Nigel took over the club and she started to enter the West Midlands Qualifier competitions and also the Schools County competitions. She was the County champion for 6 years running in various age groups and she came in the top 3 in many qualifier competitions.
She started to learn how to coach at the age of 16 and often helped out at Nigel's sessions. When she was 18 she qualified as a coach and started her own session. Shortly after Nigel put Chris and Becky in charge of the squad sessions on a Sunday. Over the next few years Becky went on to complete higher coaching qualifications and has recently passed her Senior Club Coach (level 4) qualification.
Becky loves being able to pass on her own knowledge and experience and to have the opportunity to see children progress and reach their full potential. She likes the fact that unlike some clubs we cater for all abilities including recreational bouncers and not just those who want to compete.
Nigel has many years of experience as a trampoline coach and set up the Phoenix club all those years ago. Having retired as a coach Nigel realised that it's in his blood and he just can't leave it alone. Nigel takes the Sunday squad session with Becky and Chris.
Chris started as a trampoline coach 9 years ago when he was helping out a friend at Stirchley Recreation Centre. Nigel saw his potential and got him to join the Phoenix Club. Chris was a gymnast himself and is the joker amongst the coaches. Chris makes trampolining fun for the kids and runs the Sunday morning sessions with Becky and Nigel.
Charlotte runs the Wednesday session at the Phoenix Sports Centre. She is also qualified to teach disabled children.
