New Drop Down Menus

A new menu has been created to allow for drop down lists to be used. This reduces the space that the menu was taking up and categorises the menu items appropriately. Hope you like it. Please let me know either way.

New Sidebar

What do you think of the new sidebar on the website?

We are trying to encourage people to use the Blog and Forum features more and make the site more interactive. We figured that if the new photos, articles, blogs and forums (fora) were added to all pages then people would be more likely to use them.

I would be interested in what you think.

Also if you have any issues with the layout please let me know what browser you are using as I have tested them on as many as I can with varying results.

Also don't forget that you can set your profile so that you get email updates whenever anything changes on the site. Just edit your profile, choose 'Notification Settings' and select the frequency of alert you require (Daily, weekly or monthly)

Cheers

Pete

Josh and Elise at the West Midlands Training Squad session

This write up was done by Darren on Josh and Elise's first West Midlands Training Squad Session:-

Saturday was Josh and Elise's (J/E) first development squad session. After registration they had their warm -up and then were split into two groups.

They started on the trampoline and stayed together - they were the only 2 and spent an hour and three quarters doing one on one off. Their fitness levels were really tested by this stint and both coped admirably. They rotated between four trampolines each with a different coach. They had their skills tested and ticked-off on their training sheet.

During this time Chris acted as their mentor and also stood with the coaches gaining hints and tips himself.

After a short break it was their turn to have a go at DMT, something that neither had tried before. After only a couple of tries, both were tuck jump and then barani off. They even tried barani off the the first bed, which they both achieved eventually. Elise with her gym background had the edge over Josh but both said it was hard but enjoyable. I have video of them on the DMT which is a bit big to email but will bring along on a memory stick for the website.

After the warm-down period the head-coach congratulated all participants on their effort and said there would be more. Sounds like it will be every 4 to 6 weeks.

Chris said that both had made the most of this fantastic opportunity and had worked really hard.

Elise went off on holiday to Devon, Josh ended up at Oakengates and did Sian's second session!!!

Sponsorship Money Now In !!!!

:)Hi everyone,

It was lovely to see you all yesterday at Cocks Moor Woods and this morning at Phoenix. I'm pleased to report that at long last between myself and Nigel we have managed to collect in all of the money for my sponsored somersault. Thanks to the incredible generosity of yourselves plus my family and friends we raised an impressive £120. Add to this a very generous sponsorship of £100 from my employer, Fujitsu Services, I managed to raise the fantastic sum of £220

During the course of the event I've managed to push myself to new trampolining limits (and beyond). I had to take an enforced lay-off following a fracture to my cocyxx but eventually managed to complete my challenge with the help and assistance of many of the coaches at the club. It felt really great (not many observed as they were asleep) achieving my goal at the 24hr bounce. I would like to thank you all for your patience and especially to Nigel who had the belief that I could achieve this in the first place. I must mention the support given to me by Alan (yeh go on Mo, give it a go, it'll be a doddle.. lardy .......honest!!) and from Matthew who was the most critical of coaches when putting me through my paces on our home trampoline "you must push backwards for a front sommie and forwards for a back sommie Mom" - "ok son, easier said than done"!

Spend the money wisely and please give generously to the next victim (I'm sorry that should read "brave club supporter") as I think that Nigel is already plotting another similar challenge for the future.

Good luck to you all and I'll see you all, if not before, at the next West Midlands Regional Competition - hopefully with a fully recovered ankle.

Love

Mo :) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Ever said yes when asked and when everyone has gone you realise what it is that you have actually said yes to? Well as a result I shall be flaunting my 3/8” Fuller and swinging my Swages down at Blists Hill on 25th October. To those of you that are still in the dark, I shall be attempting to keep my eyebrows whilst performing that elite of crafts blacksmithing.

As a trainee pyromaniac and basic iron basher, it is my ambition to create a wrought iron piece of craftsmanship, perhaps a full size portcullis or maybe a lattice fence, keep dreaming, it will most likely be a poker or a horse clog, anyhow I will, whilst attempting to maintain my dignity, along with the hair and skin on my arms, and under the supervision of two Master Blacksmiths, be putting my talent to the test by knocking seven bails of effluent out of some poor unsuspecting piece of ore and skilfully transforming it to different shaped piece of ore, possibly resembling something that once looked like a perfectly good piece of ore.

Well if you feel inclined, pop down to see some idiot in an apron brandishing some V Bit Tongs and playing with a twisting wench (or should that be wrench) and pretending to be a blacksmith (don’t forget your horse).

Living For The Weekend

Hello All, long time no see. I'm sure you don't want me to bore you with the detail, but I will anyway...! Friday 14th August I went for a short bike ride, Saturday morning I couldn't walk because it had taken it's toll on my coccyx. I thought I would give trampolining a miss on the Sunday morning, just to be on the safe side. But on Sunday afternoon I felt ok so I foolishly thought I would get on our home trampoline to catch up on lost bounce time. During my huffing and puffing I somehow managed to land in a rather peculiar manner and when I dismounted I found that I could hardly walk. Monday morning I went off to A & E and after Xrays I was told my ankle was suffering from "soft tissue damage", what they didn't tell me was that it could take some months before the swelling and pain would go away. There goes the reason behind my non-attendance over the last ???? weeks.

I am looking forward to seeing you all next weekend. I am also looking forward to collecting the outstanding sponsor money for my pathetic attempt at a sumersault!! So don't forget to take some cash on Saturday, you know who you are! If everyone pays up I am hoping that my "challenge" that Nigel so kindly set for me will have raised over £200 for the club. My next "challenge" is to not accept any more challenges for fear of doing any more damage to myself. See you soon. XXX
